The challenge

When we started our collaboration with Vibholm, the task was limited:

Vibholm had outgrown their existing solution, and they felt limited by features and the platform in general. So our task was to create a high-performing Shopify webshop that could accommodate their ambitions.

However, in this case, it is not the remarkable results, features, or the move to Shopify that we are going to focus on.

We usually describe ourselves as honest, down to earth people - and we stand by those words as we tell you the honest story of the ups and downs of a collaboration.

Because when we launched the first version of Vibholm's webshop, things did not go exactly as we had hoped.

Concept and solution

From failed gut feelings to real data and sustainable solutions

When Vibholm's new webshop went live, something happened that just should not have happened:

Sales failed to materialize.

Ouch.

But here is a really important point here, that often gets lost in the pursuit of results 👇

We only get the real data when we present a webshop to visitors

Design is based on experience, know-how and...

Gut feeling.

So when, as in the case of Vibholm, we find that something does not perform 10/10, there is only one thing to do:

We have to drop the kid gloves, dive in and start fixing it, while getting smarter and smarter as we get more and more data.

This is where the story of the hare and the tortoise comes into play

You probably know the story, but here's a quick outline:

The hare and the tortoise have to race. The hare is the clear winner from the start. The hare feels superior, so the hare takes a nap. Tortoise wins.

Or as Tina Dickow sings it:

Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to go slow.

What we are trying to say:

The work on your webshop is never finished.

There is always room for improvement and you do not always hit the bullseye the first time - of course we have our experience of developing 200+ webshops in Shopify to draw on, but it is not us who decide when something is a success.

It is the visitors.

While we may think our design ideas are absolutely brilliant, it doesn’t matter if the visitors do not end up reaching for their wallets and swiping their cads.

Today we have a permanent collaboration, and we are constantly expanding, improving and building - and as Anders Talbo Dahl puts it so well, we at Grafikr also have “their finger on the pulse”.

This means that we share everything from good ideas to execution, successes and failures.

3 Things You Should Know About Our Collaboration with Vibholm

1) Vibholm is now running on a Shopify Plus solution with four country-specific webshops (Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and the EU).

2) After the initial less-than-successful launch, we have worked extensively on refining the design to better align with Vibholm's target audience. Our primary focus has been on easy navigation, a sharp search function, and easily accessible filters.

3) Vibholm is very focused on omnichannel, and one of the latest things we have been working on implementing is a "click & collect" solution that connects the physical stores with the webshop, creating one seamless universe.
