Challenge
Skall Studio was founded by the sisters Julie and Marie Skall, in 2014—long before sustainability was on the agenda for the fashion industry. The Skall sisters prioritize integrity in all aspects of production, focusing on natural and sustainable materials and timeless designs. As a result, Skall Studio is renowned as a brand with high values.
Because Skall Studio has such a well-established brand identity, it is essential to continuously evolve while staying true to their values. Their products emphasize the highest quality, designed for a sustainable wardrobe where "less is more," and craftsmanship is highly valued.
However, their previous webshop did not reflect this focus on quality and craftsmanship. It was built on a disorganized and outdated theme with numerous patchwork solutions, resulting in an uninspiring and difficult-to-navigate user experience. The platform made it impossible for Skall Studio's creative team to develop and adapt content, lacking both cohesion and flexibility.
Features like the popular "Skall Letters" and the limited options for creating unique landing pages had turned the outdated setup into a genuine obstacle for the brand's growth and creative expression.
The solution
In close collaboration with Skall Studio's Creative Director, we initiated a design process centered around minimalism and freedom. We intentionally incorporated small typography and a minimalist approach to buttons, allowing the visual content to take center stage.
Although the webshop now appears simple and elegant, behind the scenes lies an advanced "content builder" that enables Skall Studio to create inspiring landing pages with an editorial feel.
The result
Today, Skall Studio’s e-commerce team is fully self-sufficient, thanks to the flexible Shopify solution, that gives them the freedom to publish inspiring "Skall Letters" and tailor landing pages that reflect the brand's values and visual identity.
The new webshop provides users with a significantly improved experience, including:
- Enhanced page speed
- Logical filtering and navigation
- Clerk.io integration via API, offering personalized product recommendations and improved search functionality
- Efficient inventory management and synchronization through SPY Systems (ERP)
- A “Back in Stock” feature via Klaviyo, notifying customers when popular items are restocked, boosting both customer loyalty and service
The upgraded platform has elevated Skall Studio’s digital presence, creating a cohesive online experience that highlights their values, reinforces their brand identity, and supports growth.
