Challenge

If you have been scrolling TikTok or Instagram lately, chances are you have come across the fast-growing fashion brand, Skagen Clothing. In just a few short years, they have built a recognized brand with impressive growth curves.

But with great growth and potential comes the reminder that a skyscraper can only rise as high as its foundation allows. In this case, it was time for a big cleanup for Skagen Clothing - a cleanup that Marie Kondo would have been proud of.

Under the hood, there was a jumble of apps and old code, resulting in unnecessary maintenance and difficult updates. In addition, their website at the time did not reflect Skagen Clothing's brand identity at all, which made it a top priority to fix.

Solution

With the prospect of Skagen Clothing's main season in spring, it was crucial that the new webshop was ready before then. We promised to deliver in record time - and of course we kept our promise. In a highly efficient design phase followed by a development phase, we were able to go from idea to a finished end result in just three months.

82% of all visitors to Skagen Clothing use a smartphone and the majority of conversions happen here. With a target audience of Gen Z, the design was specifically adapted to mobile devices with a focus on simplicity and minimalism. Skagen Clothing's DNA shines through their image and video material, which the webshop is built to highlight.

The foundation was rebuilt from the ground up with a focus on flexibility and freedom, so Skagen Clothing no longer relies on different page builder apps. This resulted in a cleaner and simpler codebase that has a positive effect on web performance.

Skagen Clothing is now online with a new Shopify Plus solution that not only reflects their brand and DNA but is also ready for their ambition to become Scandinavia's largest fashion brand. We have ensured that the technical foundation will not be an obstacle to their growth.

Highlights from Skagen Clothing's webshop:

  • "See the clothes on" videos in the best "User Generated Content" style on the product pages.
  • "Size indicator" on products, which helps minimize returns.
  • Upsell section in the shopping cart to increase average order value.
  • "You are only X amount away from free shipping" indicator in the cart.
  • Logo animation in the header when scrolling up.
  • Quantity indicator on menu items with hover effect.
  • Easy filtering of size, product type, etc., on category pages.
