The challenge
Dermalogica, the globally recognized skincare manufacturer, contacted us with the desire to give their webshop a facelift to match their brand identity: modern, simple and professional. Their previous platform in DynamicWeb could no longer support their ambitions of both a strong B2C and dedicated B2B experience, creating the need for an upgrade. A migration to Shopify was therefore the crucial next step.
Dermalogica needed a Shopify solution that would not only fulfill the sensory experiences known from their skincare products, but also allow for the addition of customized features to support the business across different target audiences. Additionally, it was important for the project to ensure a simple and efficient experience for all users and training the Dermalogica team to work with the valuable features of the Shopify platform.
The solution
To ensure a faster "time to market," we started with a Shopify theme that reflected Dermalogica's professional and modern look.
Our setup of the webshop focused on a combination of elegant and simple aesthetics, where we wanted to create an intuitive user journey. To support Dermalogica’s sales strategy, we established a separate B2B webshop that allows us to effectively service both private customers and resellers.
Additionally, we developed a range of custom features that fulfill Dermalogica’s specific needs:
- Loyalty Program / Earning Bonus Points: This feature allows users to log in, select their preferred clinic, and earn bonus points for each order. These points strengthen customer loyalty as well as the relationship with the clinics, as the points can be used for treatments in Dermalogica clinics. The bonus points provide a visible advantage, as the points that can be earned for each purchase, are displayed directly on product pages.
- Skincare Routine Guide: The correct order of skincare products is essential, which is why we created a feature that demonstrates step-by-step product application on product pages to create the best sales experience.
The result
Dermalogica has implemented the features of the Shopify platform as the active ingredient in their new website. This is a major step towards a more personalized and active customer experience, strengthening the brand identity and giving their website a fresh new glow.
It supports their vision of a modern, professional online presence. New imagery and a visually strong design bring the brand to life in a way that strengthens the bond with loyal customers while appealing to new ones.
The new Shopify platform makes it easy for Dermalogica to cater to both B2C and B2B customers, while giving the e-commerce team the ability and flexibility to manage and optimize the webshop themselves. The improved user experience ensures that customers can easily find products and nearby clinics or retailers, while being inspired to experience the power of Dermalogica's exclusive range for themselves.
